ArayoWeb, the web design and online marketing agency, have been the proud sponsors of their local Ronda rugby team, Los Bandoleros, since the beginning of 2014. We are pleased to say that since then the team has been going from strength to strength and over the past year they have brought a lot of enjoyment to the company.
Last Sunday 14th December, Los Bandoleros showed their strength and expertise and won against Rugby Alhaurín de la Torre FC in the match that was celebrated in Ronda’s sports stadium.
It was a very cold and rainy day and the players really suffered, but still managed to put on a fantastic performance for the spectators. It was a brutal battle of a match with the forwards dominating throughout, as many scrums were formed, constantly pushing the ball forwards. Los Bandoleros also dominated the scrums with a very strong formation that constantly gained ground, pushing back the other team with their force and gaining the ball the majority of the time.
The first half was played entirely in our half of the pitch, so we held majority possession of the ball. Los Bandoleros also had a great line of defence, preventing any possible tries from taking place. They won three tries in the first half, although no conversions were kicked, and therefore finished the first half with an impressive 15-0 lead!
The tries were scored by Manu Yacobi, Nicolás Szkope “Nico”, Javier Martin Aguilera “Toro” y José Vásquez Burgos “Peti”.
Then at the beginning of the first half Los Bandoleros lost concentration and conceded 3 tries and one conversion from Alhaurín to overtake Los Bandoleros. However, after a drilling and a pep talk on pitch from the club President and coach, Danny Hutchinson, they managed to pull themselves back together and get another try in the last 5 minutes of the match to rein champions and win 20-17.
ΩThe third half was a great celebration and was held in the stadium where Los Bandoleros and their families put on a nice lunch of pasta for all the players of both teams, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and of course plenty of beer was drunk as well in true rugby fashion. A great day all round and a fantastic result for Ronda!
